Republican Urges Conservatives To Run Against Trump In 2020

Image
A Republican senator said Sunday that a conservative should run against US President Donald Trump for the party’s presidential nomination in 2020. Jeff Flake, a vocal critic of the president, said he did not think he would run but that someone else should. “I have said all along that somebody needs to run on the Republican side, if nothing else, to remind Republicans what it means to be conservative, what being a conservative really means, and what it means to be decent as well,” he said in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.” Flake, who is leaving the Senate in January, warned that in his state of Arizona, a Republican bastion in the past, voters are rejecting candidates “tied at the hip with the president.” “And I think that we’re seeing that elsewhere in the country as well. We’re losing the suburbs. “If we had a mass movement from the suburbs for people to move back to rural areas, then perhaps our Republican Party would have more of a future – but not the way ...

Chelsea: Sarri to spend £200m on four players ahead FIFA ban on Chelsea

Image
Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, will spend more than £200million in January window following the threat of a two-year transfer ban by FIFA. The money will be spent on four players. FIFA had last week recommended the Blues receive a four-window transfer ban following an investigation into them signing under-age foreign players. The threat will push the Blues to work around the clock in January to bring in a number of targets before the ban hits. Express Sports reports that Chelsea are ready to go head-to-head with both Manchester United and City to sign 27-year-old £50m-rated Brazilian wing-back Alex Sandro from Juventus. Sarri is already on the verge of winning the £70m-race to land winger Christian Pulisic, 20, from Borussia Dortmund. The Italian manager will also pay £50m for 24-year-old right-back, Elseid Hysaj. The Blues are also looking to invoke a £40m buy-back clause in the deal that took central defender Nathan Ake to Bournemouth.

US To Make Final Conclusions On Saudi Killing In Days – Trump

Image
The United States will make final conclusions by early next week over the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, President Donald Trump said Saturday, following reports that the CIA had held Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman responsible. Saudi Arabia has repeatedly changed its official narrative of the October 2 murder, first denying any knowledge of Khashoggi’s whereabouts and later saying he was killed when an argument degenerated into a fistfight. Earlier this week, a Saudi prosecutor exonerated the crown prince of involvement in the brutal murder. Speaking to reporters in Malibu, California after surveying damage from wildfires, Trump said “we’ll be having a very full report over the next two days, probably Monday or Tuesday.” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert earlier said reports indicating the United States had already made final conclusions in the case were “inaccurate.” “There remain numerous unanswered questions with respect to the murder of Mr Khashoggi,” sh...

Image

The former Vice President made the call on Saturday during a reunion with his supporters upon return to his home state, Adamawa. He called on the people of North East to uproot the APC out of the region in order for the PDP to regain prominence in the country come 2019. Abubakar said, “We thank God for this home coming which has afforded me the opportunity to make this reunion since my emergence as the Presidential candidate of the PDP. It is no longer news that I emerged the Presidential candidate of our party – the PDP at the Port Harcourt convention. “It is not just my desire that the people of North East gain prominence again but it’s a sacred duty that the people must root out the APC completely from the bottom to the top. “We have that chance t...

Image
Professor Ben Nwabueze, Atiku others out of a meeting in Enugu. Photo/Twitter/atiku The last time there was a gathering of the magnitude that held in Enugu last Wednesday was probably on February 3, 2015, when the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo called a meeting to endorse the presidential aspiration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. Many Ndigbo had come from far and near to be part of the event. That scenario was repeated at the prestigious Nike Lake Hotel, Enugu last Wednesday. The assembly paraded who is who in Igboland, and was for the singular purpose of deciding Ndigbo’s fate in 2019 general elections and beyond. The event, which brought together various socio-cultural organisations, traditional, political and religious groupings, was said to have been put together by the Mkpoko Igbo. Mkpoko Igbo was heard last in the 90’s, when it was the umbrella organisation that bonded such Igbo bodies as Diamond Link, Enugu; Nzuko Imo; Aka-Ikenga; Izu Umunna ...

Party primaries: Why INEC is helpless while parties swim in confusion

Image
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Now that party primaries have been concluded and names of candidates submitted and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with the requirement of law, managing the fallout, especially in the two major parties-ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is another matter. It has continued to raise concerns among party leaders, who are battling to ensure that the issue does not affect the chances of parties in the elections. Losers are licking their wounds and at the same time complaining bitterly of being schemed out. They have also accused the party leadership and INEC of aiding and abetting manipulation during the primaries. Winners on the other hand, are celebrating and at the same time preparing for the main election. But the development is not new or different from what it used to be in the past, especially since 2010, when the 2006 Electoral Act was amend...

The Rapture Will Not Happen Until Christians Have Faced The Great Tribulation

All my life, I've always believed in a rapture doctrine which says before the great tribulation and before the unveiling of the Antichrist, Christians will be raptured into heaven to meet Jesus. They say Jesus will come like a thief in the night, secretly to help his believers escape the tribulation which the Antichrist will unleash. This concept has been made popular by movies like LEFT BEHIND and some America. televangelists. Before 1800, there was no church or preacher holding such doctrine. It was started by a man named John Darby who even wrote his own Bible which lacked key verses. Today, the doctrine is held by roughly 65% of Christians. The doctrine that we will escape the tribulation is false and not Biblical. Jesus himself spoke of when the rapture will take place. Notice how his disciples asked him to tell them what the signs of his coming will be. Mathew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when sha...

In the letter signed by the duo of Nelson Ekujumi and Solomon Sobade, the group said information at their disposal shows that Atiku did not pay his Personal Income Tax for several years and only ran to the FIRS in April this year to pay the back-log of only his 2015 – 2017 taxes to meet up with the requirements of INEC. APC vs PDP: What happened during Kwara bye-election – Gov Ahmed

Image
The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has described Saturday’s House of Representatives by-election into the Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency as a contest between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and security agents rather than among political parties, even as he expressed confidence of the party’s victory. The contest was a battle between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the PDP. Alhaji Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr Muyideen Akorede, said reports available to him from the four local government areas in which elections were held indicated wide-spread harassment, arrests and intimidation of PDP members and supporters by security personnel. Governor Ahmed, however, commended PDP members and supporters across the federal constituency for standing their ground and defying the threats posed by the security agents by coming out to exercise their franchise at the risk of harm and arrest. CIA concludes with high confidence that Saudi Crown Prince ordered the execution of journalist Khashoggi

Image
Based on available intelligence, the CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman likely ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, contradicting the Saudi government's claim that he was not involved in the killing. A team of 15 Saudi agents flew to Istanbul on government aircraft in October and killed Khashoggi inside the Saudi Consulate, where he had gone to pick up documents that he needed for his planned marriage to a Turkish woman, the Washington Post reports. CIA officials said they have high confidence in the assessment they carried out on the murder of Khashoggi. It is the most definitive assessment to date, linking Mohammed to the operation and complicates the Trump administration’s efforts to preserve its relationship with Saudi, a close ally.  To arrive at it's conclusions, CIA examined multiple sources of intelligence, including a phone call that the prince’s brother Khalid bin Salman, who is the Saudi ambassador to the United...
