Christian Leaders under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria on Friday told President Muhammadu Buhari to his face that the ruling All Progressives Congress was now becoming a safe haven where corrupt politicians can hide, Sun News reports. The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has described Saturday’s House of Representatives by-election into the Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency as a contest between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and security agents rather than among political parties, even as he expressed confidence of the party’s victory. The contest was a battle between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the PDP. Alhaji Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr Muyideen Akorede, said reports available to him from the four local government areas in which elections were held indicated wide-spread harassment, arrests and intimidation of PDP members and supporters by security personnel.
